Support table
| Django | Python versions |
|---|---|
| 6.2 (in development) | 3.12, 3.13, 3.14 |
| 6.1 | 3.12, 3.13, 3.14, 3.15 (from 6.1.3) |
| 6.0 | 3.12, 3.13, 3.14 |
| 5.2 LTS | 3.10, 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, 3.14 (from 5.2.8) |
The FAQ table lists the Python versions each release series targets; the 6.1 release notes add Python 3.15 support as of 6.1.3. Only the latest micro release of each Python version is officially supported.
The policy
Django supports a Python version up to and including the first Django LTS release whose security support ends after that Python version's security support ends. That is why Django 4.2 LTS was the last release for Python 3.9.
Check your combination
python -c "import sys, django; print('Python', sys.version.split()[0], '/ Django', django.get_version())"pip install "django<6" keeps you on the 5.2 LTS line when your Python is older than 3.12.
